Serves as an Aquatics Program Manager in the Parks and Recreation Department at the Hale Koa Hotel under the direction of the Resort Operations Director.

Serves as the AFRC Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the aquatic, fitness, training and recreational programs under the direction of the director, resort operations. Provides overall supervision of the aquatic and fitness programs. Establishes and reviews the Aquatic Risk Management plan for all aquatic and fitness facilities. Responsible for planning and administering a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities. Plans and establishes an aquatic certification curriculum to include lifeguarding, CPR, AED, First Aid and other safety, fitness and recreational certification and educational programming. Plans/conducts water survival training according to TC 21-21, and conducts Shallow Water Egress Training (SWET and/or `Dunker' Training) if the program/equipment is available. Participates in planning/recommending/designing of the improvement of Aquatic and Fitness Facilities.
Develops and updates the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic and fitness facilities, programs and enforces policies. Plans and executes data collection for the DOD and DA MWR standard reports. Ensures adherence to the policies established in AR 215-1, AR 215-3; TB-MED 575 and AR-385-10 and Aquatic Risk Management requirements. Interviews and selects such staff and provides them with required orientation, training and management in order to meet all activity needs.
Responsible for the evaluation of programs and services in terms of safety, guest satisfaction, and mission accomplishment. Performs assessments, analysis, and development of courses of action and strategies for improvements in practices and methods that improve performance and achieve desired results. These areas are opportunities that increase efficiencies and enhance productivity such as, but are not limited to, increased safety, increased productivity, and better delivery of services. Executes and measures results of approved actions. Incumbent is responsible for conducting management reviews of patron program to identify problems and initiate appropriate corrective measures. Ensures internal control measures are followed and the safeguard of property.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with various functional managers. Integrates and synchronizes efforts to ensure mutual understanding and unity of effort. Coordinates, synchronizes, and integrates tasks, inquiries, reports, requests for data or assistance and other communications to appropriate personnel. Assists in the formulation of official responses and provides advice and guidance on policy. Negotiates, mediates and resolves problems and conflicts. Informs leadership on significant matters through briefings, reports and other written or oral material.
Develops the projected future plan and integrates the plan into the annual operating budget and the capital expenditure budget. Reviews and evaluates the execution of budgets, operating results, and various performance indicators. Monitors and evaluates project development for capital purchase and minor construction projects. Monitors operations through the use of process analysis to measure program effectiveness and provide recommendations. Develops and presents instructional sessions to managers, technicians, and other members of the aquatic and fitness workforce.
Performs the full range of supervisory duties over any assigned staff. Motivates and inspires staff.
