The primary purpose is to provide a lead technical electronics engineer in support of assigned armament programs during all phases of the weapon system acquisition cycle. Assignment involves complex design and engineering problems encountered in the development of new armament systems or major modifications to existing systems/weapon system programs.
- Serves as the lead technical electronics engineer, providing guidance on navigation, and control, simulation, electronic warfare, computer hardware and software, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) and radar sensors, fusing, communications, and electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) for organizational programs.
- The incumbent is specifically required to provide the technical electronics engineering expertise necessary to monitor assigned armament programs.
- Participates in design and manufacturing reviews and other reviews as required to lend electronics expertise.
Occasional travel - Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
