JOB DESCRIPTION: Emergency Management Specialists perform cross-discipline tasks supporting day-to-day and long-term emergency management (EM) operations within and outside of NGA. They assess potential threats/hazards and develop Agency plans and procedures to mitigate and defend against man-made and natural threats. They develop and coordinate internal and external emergency management plans. They maintain liaison within NGA and external government agencies to ensure interoperability of plans and procedures to support coordination and compliance with Federal, State, and local agencies.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Emergency Management Team Lead initiates, prepares, and maintains EM agency-level policies, plans, briefings, contracts, budget, systems and personnel; orchestrates agency-level EM exercises; ensures compliance with DoD, IC and NGA directives; coordinates, reviews and advises site EP plans and efforts; supports multiple COOP, CBRNE, and EP related assessment programs; supports training activities for EM personnel; and provides policy and direction for COOP, CBRNE, and EP programs. The position requires a person with stamina, professionalism, judgment, team-building and composure to effectively perform under pressure; the candidate must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities, to delegate and track progress and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all professional grades/ranks. Strong HQ / staff experience and field EM response experience is highly desirable. The individual must also have demonstrated motivation as a self-starter with proven communications and negotiating abilities.
