    About the Position:

    This position is with the Program Executive Officer (PEO), Aviation, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Vacancies will be filled in the Apache Attack and Utility Helicopters Project Management Offices in addition to other Project Management Offices throughout PEO Aviation.  

    The mission of PEO Aviation is to exercise executive level authority and responsibility for all phases of research, development, procurement, production, distribution, logistics support, fielding, and retirement planning required to assure attainment of readiness objectives of assigned weapon systems.

    Huntsville is a high-tech city nestled between the edge of the Appalachian Mountains in North Alabama and the Tennessee River. The Huntsville area has one of the largest research parks in the United States and the technical community is fortunate to have access to the undergraduate and graduate curricula of several excellent engineering universities. It is also home to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, championship golf courses, museums, professional theater, symphony, sport franchises (baseball, ice hockey and arena football) and three shopping malls. This is a vibrant region with mild winters, family oriented communities and great natural beauty.

    • Advise on the practicability, feasibility and economic implications involved in research and development and production of assigned components on rotary wing platforms.
    • Establish priority target dates, resources and requirements to implement the technical portion of projects and insure their timely integration with overall program.
    • Review and provide recommendations on proposals, and recommended deviations from established research and development and advanced production engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Evaluate and provide recommendations on engineering drawings, performance specifications, and engineering design changes generated by both contractors and government agencies in relation to engines and engine controls.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Temporary Duty Travel may be required up to 25% of the time
