  • Duties




    As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (HRD) at the GS-0201-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Provides advice and assistance to employees and managers at all levels of the organization on issues pertaining to training and human resources development; works with managers throughout the Agency to identify and satisfy current training needs and to plan for projected employee development needs for both civilian and military personnel.
    • Advises on a range of workforce development functions; utilizes analytical ability, knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of education or training, and the relationship of human resource development and training to management problems and to personnel management objectives to provide guidance consultation, and staff assistance to managers in the following areas: executive and management development programs, cooperative education, long and short-term training programs, and training program development and operation. Assures the human resources development programs comply with statutory requirements, regulations, and guidance.
    • Participates in the evaluation of the human resource development programs to determine the quality and overall effectiveness. Provides guidance to identify deficiencies in the training program and recommend corrective action or alternative procedures. Estimates program costs for inclusion in the annual training budget; monitors expenditures of funds to ensure compliance with the annual spend plan and bottom-line balances; recommends reallocation of funds when necessary.
    • Plans and/or conducts assessments and evaluations of overall workforce development and training programs, and evaluates problems, deficiencies, and inadequacies identified in administering training and development programs within DTRA.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
