The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) accurately administers and records medications and treatments. This role includes determining need, contra-indications, allergies, and identifying and recording reactions/interactions. Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process in administering patient care by collecting data and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team on the care plan development, implementation and ongoing evaluation and revision of plan of care. Identifies emergencies and intervenes appropriately. Performs nursing procedures and therapies according to policies and procedures. Performs technical nursing skills such as complex dressing changes and care of various tubes and drainage systems. Must be competent in phlebotomy and basic processing of laboratory specimens to prepare them for transport to laboratory. Identifies potential factors that would impede healing and intervenes to prevent infection and promote healing. Utilizes the nursing process with the knowledge of physiological, pharmacological, psychological, sociological principles and considers age specific variation and developmental needs.
Positions are located in the following areas: Community Living Center / Mental Health Unit / Surgical Service
Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week, shift work, weekends, days, evenings, nights and holidays.
