The purpose of this position is to provide a structured clinical coach preceptor program to support delivery of orientation that ensures new nurses receive adequate preparation to function independently and to facilitate their transition to assigned departments/units. The incumbent is responsible for directing, coordinating, providing leadership and evaluating the provision of nurse care provided on the assigned unit. The incumbent reports to the Supervisory Clinical Nurse (Pediatrics).

Clinical Coach Coordinator Responsibilities: Facilitates the transition of a preceptee to his/her assigned unit by providing an atmosphere conducive to the professional growth of both the clinical coach coordinator and the preceptee. Assesses the preceptee's experience, develops goals and objectives; assists the preceptee in organizing and prioritizing. Provides feedback on a daily basis, evaluates progress, acts as a role model, and provides written evaluation.Direct Patient Care Responsibilities: Assists with patient care, utilize nursing process, provide skilled and comprehensive nursing care to patients. Closely observe patients and provide immediate emergency measures. Initiates treatment, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures.Patient Care Coordination: Coordinates patient care activities and support activities to assure a smooth facility operation at all times. Promote patient advocacy and patient education.Interpersonal Relationships: Maintains an organizational environment for open communication, trust and respect. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
