Lebanon VA Medical Center is hiring a part-time Emergency Medicine Physician to join our group. The physician is responsible for the provision of emergent and urgent care to Medical, Surgical and Behavioral Health patients. The annual workload is approximately 12,000 patients per year with a 20% admission rate.
Emergency Medicine staff work directly with other physicians, nursing staff, administrative staff, and social workers. As a Emergency Physician you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Perform assessments/examinations on initial encounter with unscheduled, emergency and new patients.
- Coordinate patient treatment plans (involve Primary Care and specialists as appropriate).
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests as necessary to complete the evaluation.
- Provide physician oversight to nursing staff and other mid-level staff members.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews.
- Attend physician staff meetings.
This position requires faculty appointment status for necessary supervision of residents/trainees.
Work Schedule: Part Time (18 hours per week) - Clinical schedule will be determined by the needs of the ED and at the discretion of the Chief, Emergency Medicine. Schedule may include night and weekend coverage.
