    This position is located in the Smithsonian Institution(SI)'s Privacy Office. The employee provides support to the Privacy Officer (PO) with the day-to-day administration of the information privacy program and all privacy-related activities for the SI.  The incumbent serves as a privacy specialist and is responsible for assisting with efforts to ensure proper administration and management of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (sPII).

    • Assists in the administration of the Smithsonian's Privacy Program, serving as a privacy subject matter specialist and is responsible for assisting in the coordination, implementation, and management of the daily operations of the program.
    • Assists in the preparation of policy and procedural guidance for use by Smithsonian employees.
    • Conducts reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable Privacy laws and SI policy. Assists in the identification of areas for Privacy Program improvement and development of appropriate action plans. Briefs supervisor on findings and recommendations.
    • Facilities training workshops on privacy procedures for managers and employees.
