The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System is a 673-bed tertiary healthcare facility which provides care to more than 112,000 Veterans across Northeast Ohio. We provide care through our main medical facility at the Wade Park campus, 13 community-based outpatient clinics, three Vet Centers, a freestanding hemodialysis center and an ambulatory surgery center. The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System is recruiting for a Psychiatrist at the Akron Outpatient Clinic in Community Outpatient Service. The Psychiatrist duties include:
- Undertaking a spectrum of clinical duties that include, but are not limited to, providing general outpatient psychiatric treatment, psychiatric primary care and acute inpatient treatment as needed to an adult psychiatric population with diverse diagnoses including major affective disorders, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), and substance use disorders.
- Providing diagnostic assessment/evaluation and therapeutic interventions, treatment planning, psychiatric medication management, substance abuse counseling, monitoring of clinical response to treatment, inpatient psychiatric consults, coverage for the inpatient psychiatric ward as needed, adjustments in levels of care as necessary and other specialized services as required.
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
