This position is located in Nursing Service for the Amarillo VA Hospital. The primary duties will consist of general operations of the facility during, evening, night, weekend, and holiday tours. Major duties and responsibilities of the RN-NOD includes but is not limited to:
- Supervising all on duty nursing staff,
- Coordinating staffing for all areas of the hospital and Community Living Center,
- Resolving patient care issues,
- Communicating with healthcare staff, patients and family members,
- Coordinating patient inter-facility transfers, and
- Facilitating proactive problem-solving to ensure quality as well as safe patient care and satisfaction.
- Performing other duties as required for the position.
- May also work PRN float nurse shifts.
Work Schedule: Primarily evening, night, weekend, and Holiday coverage.
