    ****All deployment tours are limited to a maximum length of 2 years total****

    If you are current Army employee, this will be temporary reassignment or promotion NTE 1 year, with possible extensions up to 2 years.

    If you are applying as a current DoD employee, Non DoD employee, 30% disabled veteran, ICTAP eligible or as a reinstatement eligible this a Term Appointment NTE 13 months, with possible extensions up to 2 years.

    If you are transferring from another Federal Agency, your home agency cannot, nor will not guarantee or grant an entitlement of return to federal employment with said agency. USACE will not be responsible for placement once your deployment tour ends.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as Chief, Construction Branch, responsible for the administration, management, and staff control of the contract construction and contract maintenance program of the District
    • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates by setting and adjusting short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work
    • Interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions Identify developmental and training needs of employees
    • Provide advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters
    • Renders technical assistance to area engineers on a wide variety of engineering and construction difficulties and makes decisions on controversial matters
