Position is located in the Inpatient Nursing Services department. Incumbent will direct, assess, develop, implement and evaluate nursing care and services across the full spectrum of inpatient care settings, including Emergency department, Intensive Care unit, Medical-Surgical Unit, Float Pool, and House Supervisors. Provides consultative assessment, evaluation, and guidance to nursing staff in the Women and Infant Service Line and Integrated Surgical Services. Incumbent models professional behaviors and practices that support a culture of inquiry and nursing research, and mentors others in evidence-bases nursing practices. Position reports directly to the Chief Nurse Officer.

- Ensures inpatient nursing services comply with the Joint Commission accreditation standards and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Utilizes resources available through the Improving Patient Care through Relationships Initiative fully implements a professional nursing practice model with Primary Nursing as the care delivery system.
- Defines and implements measurement strategies that use data to drive practice changes and innovations and tracks improvements.
- Provides clinical oversight to all nurse leads/mentors and directly supervises all supervisory clinical nurses in Ambulatory Services.
