Summary

You will serve as a FACILITY REQUIREMENTS SPECIALIST in the Public Works Branch ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER .

Duties

  • You will update the facilities assignments listings prepared within the Public Works Branch.
  • You will ensure all Command tenants are briefed on policies and procedures covered under the Facility Space Assignment Program (FSAP) and verifies that Commands are in compliance with submittal requirements.
  • You will be responsible for evaluation of personnel and equipment space needs, current assignments, and effective space utilization for possible reassignment.
  • You will provide technical document and record keeping assistance in support of Asset Management and update the facilities and property records.
  • You will evaluate the quality and weaknesses of existing policies, practices, and procedures, and suggests alternatives for improvement.
  • You will conduct special studies or projects for the development of necessary reports to ensure accountability and accuracy of space data for all space assignments at the Installation and Camp level.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

Qualifications

GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing facility assets and real properties control for rehabilitation or modification according to mission goals; conducting space assignment inspections and surveys; providing technical document and record keeping assistance; AND evaluating existing policies, practices, and procedures, and suggests alternatives for improvement.

GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in preparing facility projects requirements (e.g., designs, cost estimates, documents, sketches) for accuracy and completeness.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
