Duties

  • Provide advice and manages civilian personnel both federal and contract for the directorate.
  • Facilitate decision-making, conflict resolution, strategic planning, and dialogue within the assigned organizational unit.
  • Maintain frequent direct contact with peer positions, management and higher authority as directed and/or required in the discussion, achievement, and coordination of health care goals.
  • Coordinate the appropriate resolution of customer service complaints and/or requests for assistance related to enrollment, access to health care or services obtained via the managed care support contractor.
  • Perform as authoritative expert in the interpretation of organizational unit productivity, access, cost, and quality data.
  • Conduct data/system analysis, with emphasis on trends, detailing specific descriptive factors in clinical data, performing data extraction, processing, storage, manipulation, and analysis
  • Coordinate budget planning and execution with local management and MTF resource management.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". Isevere weather conditions or other emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One years specialized experience that includes patient advocacy, and facilitating understanding of the assigned organizational unit's individual mission and an atmosphere conducive to quality patient care.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience in the federal government that includes administrative support maintaining accountability for productivity, patient satisfaction, other relevant health care-delivery/business-plan targets and coordinating budget planning, execution and recommending allocation of funds and resources per program objectives and mission needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
