Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Industrial Equipment Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform commontasks of cleaning air vents and heating coils, use HVAC cleaning supplies and devises and clean and oil equipment properly to ensure proper and safe operations. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort:
- Light to medium physical effort is required in performing work.
- Work requires some standing, stooping, walking and lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally handles items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and in cramped positions.
- Some of the work may be performed outside.
- Exposed to chemicals when cleaning filters.
- Use protective clothing and devices for asbestos work in the removal of asbestos in areas of high temperature and high humidity.
