Duties

The Painter Supervisor will supervise all Paint Shop employees in the maintenance and repair of walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, cabinetry, displays and architectural finishes and coatings in the non-gallery spaces of the Gallery's East and West Buildings. In this position you will:

  • Supervise and direct a full range of Paint Shop operations utilizing traditional trade practices as well as current painting technology.
  • Plan, estimate, schedule and supervise the coating and finishing of furniture, mill work, cabinetry, displays, walls, ceiling, doors, elevators, new construction, and renovation and remodeling projects.
  • Utilize and maintain a variety of standard hand and power tools.
  • Review work schedules; determine manpower and material requirements; plan work assignments.
  • Promote an effective safety program and ensure safe working conditions.
