In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-04, you must possess six (6) months of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position, OR experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the occupation
AND six (6) months specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level, GS-03 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes duties that involved oral presentation of historical, scientific, or program information to groups; or developing and/or revising technical, historical, or scientific information for oral presentation to groups.
OR
You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having completed 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in courses such as American history, science, and/or public speaking.
OR
A combination of education
AND experience when combined, meet the total requirements identified above for the GS-04.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
