Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as chief of the function and as such, is responsible for all navigational support provided by the squadron.
(1) Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
(2) Develops and monitors the Squadron's navigation ground and flight training program.
(3) As required, serves as standardization/evaluation flight examiner.
(4) As required, fly as mission-ready rated navigator in unit aircraft.
(5) Ensures that complete navigation packets (DD 1801 flight plans, navigator flight plans, charts, forms, fuel plan, and air crew flimsy) are developed, available, and distributed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Primary consideration will be given to current WY ANG military members. If required, additional areas of consideration certificates may be released to hiring managers.
Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members.
If selectee is not a WY ANG member, must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
Must submit vMPF Rip with application and possess AFSC 12M3B, Mobility Combat Systems Officer.
Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T5/TOP SECRET security clearance.
Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation.
An indefinite position may be converted to Perm if funding/position is available.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized.
PCS costs are not authorized. If selected, you will be required to relocate at your own expense.
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
2. Work will require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Top Secret or Secret security clearance.
3. May require incumbent to perform Functional Check Flights to determine airworthiness of Aircraft.
4. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
5. Qualifications for this position require the Navigator/CSO to have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training.
6. Incumbents are required to maintain the same medical standards as USAF military navigators, Combat System Operators.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Primary consideration will be made from Area 4. If referrals are not made from either of the target categories, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible).
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess
experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11 - Must possess experience, education or training on obtaining information on types of mission, weather and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided a knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems. Experience that shows ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions. Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel AND must have completed the necessary hours required for your current airframe. (ex. 1000 hours total navigation time, which includes 200 hours' time in the C-130).
GS-12 - Must be 12M3B C130H mission qualified and meet the minimum instructor upgrade requirements (1000 hours total time, 200 hours in Primary Assigned Aircraft (PAA) C130H).
GS-13 - Must possess experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) and possess certification as a qualified Navigator Instructor.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from MM/YYYY - MM/YYYY (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
