The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage organization's security program in order to effectively ensure all personnel are aware of their security roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; make personnel aware of threats, and/or provide security response options for enhancing security and addressing security concerns.

Duties

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Manages the Information Security program for the organization. Administers DoD, USAF, MAJCOM, Center policies and implements procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information.
  • Manages the Industrial Security program for the organization. Provides technical guidance in development of program specific requirements to ensure all solicitations and contracts include the appropriate security clauses and language.
  • Implements the Personnel Security Program and Counter-Insider Threat programs. Provide technical guidance in identifying and/or coordinating the execution of the appropriate personnel security investigative or re-investigative process.
  • Manages the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program. Manages organization OPSEC planning and guidance. Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of OPSEC activities.
  • Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Evaluates new or different types of security systems and equipment for application within the organization.

  • Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
  • This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
  • This position is designated as a national security position.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD.
  • This position meets the executive exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.205).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation and supported organizations.
4. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
