Summary
This Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist position has the overall responsibility for the coordination and performance of the technical, clerical, and file room operations of the General Diagnostic Section, North Little Rock and works closely with the technologists, radiologists, clinicians, and clerical staff to assure optimum quality control, efficient coordination of activities, high quality diagnostic exam results, and patient satisfaction.

Duties of the Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist include, but are not limited to:
- Staff Training: Responsible for orientation and training of staff. Trains new technologists in the performance of procedures specific to that modality and organizational practices of the unit. Recommends, coordinates and evaluates new or modified procedures and instructs staff on specialized tasks and new/modified procedures and policies. Participates in the education of staff through departmental in-services. Ensures the completion by staff of all facility required education
- Staff Assessment: Responsible for the evaluation, communication and completion of Competency checklists and Performance Appraisal process under the direction of the Chief. Develops formal orientation, training, and evaluation programs. Communicates and documents informal and formal counseling, corrective actions and performance improvements plans according to established policy.
- Staff Scheduling: Determines staffing requirements based on past, present, and future workload patterns and develops the weekly/monthly schedules. Organizes staff work assignments, including lunch and break rotations. Reports absences and tardiness to Chief Technologist. Directs reassignment of technologists when necessary because of call-ins or increased/decreased workload. Coordinates leave requests i.e., vacation schedules, to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Student supervision: Coordinates with affiliate program to provide supervision and training for student technologists.
- Clinic Scheduling: Develops and coordinates the appointment schedules in a manner so as to optimize times while maintaining flexibility for emergency cases. Monitors and reports the wait times for requests to be scheduled and assures compliance to hospital mandated appointment processes by the clerical staff. Coordinates with the Radiologist to accomplish emergency procedures. This requires the ability to prioritize scheduled patients as well as the ability to accommodate the emergency patient.
- Inventory Control: Ensures that adequate quantities of supplies are available to meet workload demands through a systemized process of ordering, receipt and inventory control. Assures that general diagnostic procedure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies at all times with special attention to emergent equipment and supplies. Participates in planning of renovation and construction within the areas of responsibility. Confers with engineers during process to ensure needs of the service are met.
- Responsible for quality assurance of examinations performed in the unit. Confers with the radiologist on any areas of concern and determines requirement of nonstandard exams.
- Coordinates the repair and installation of all general diagnostic equipment.
- Responsible for the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Responsible to ensure that staff adhere to all policies and procedures in the performance of duties, and that documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Includes on-call after-hours, weekends, and holidays)
