Prepares NAF funded official travel orders such as Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD), Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Renewal Agreement Travel (RAT), Student Travel, and Invitational Travel Orders for MCCS employees and guests.
As the command SME, interprets Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Department of Defense directives, Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR), and MCCS financial management policies and procedures; advises travelers regarding regulatory requirements, estimated travel costs, per diem rates, and financial reporting requirements; establishes travel guidance, local policies and procedures, and internal controls; plans, coordinates, and arranges MCCS NAF travel for NAF, IHA and MLC employees; reviews traveler’s expense receipts and entitlements of all travel activity.
Provides guidance on the procedural requirements for various orders and the required steps to ensure proper reimbursement of travel expenses. Assists managers and employees with the interpretation the JTR and DSSR and its modification.
Serves as Agency Program Coordinator (APC) for the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Program for NAF Travel Program, performing the following activities: processing GTCC applications; ensuring cardholder and agency compliance with regulatory requirements; initiating internal control measures to prevent or reduce incidence of cardholder misuse, fraud, and abuse; coordinating the prompt payment of delinquent cardholder accounts; facilitating dispute resolution of cardholder problems; preparing and presenting reports to upper-level management regarding the GTCC program to effect change and facilitate improvements to travel program.
Uses knowledge of standard regulations, processes and operations to support accounting, budget and financial support personnel. Performs the full range of financial support duties for recurring and standard transactions. Uses knowledge of database and spreadsheet associated with financial functions to input standard information, understand, correct errors and provide reports.
Follows established instructions that are readily available on recurring assignments. Receives instructions for new assignments. Deals with employees inside and outside of the organization to obtain, clarify and provide information. Resolves and makes decisions on recurring tasks independently.
