Duties
- Manages a business activity as an assistant manager. Recommends and enforces operating procedures. Represents the activity to the public, conducts surveys, reviews activity reports, and makes recommendations concerning revenue improvement.
- Instructs patrons of a recreational facility in horsemanship, applying knowledge of equestrian activities. Assists with individual rentals, boarding, group events such as pony circles, organized trail rides, youth horse camp, and special events.
- Promotes interest in programming by making presentations to units, schools, and interfacing with other recreational activities. Conducts riding lessons, organizes group events, and horse camps for children.
- May assist with feeding, care of horses, basic maintenance repairs of riding equipment, and trail rides. May operate a vehicle to deliver horses to special events. Monitors activities to determine budget process for financial accountability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and requires pre-employment and periodic drug testing.
- A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds and be able to stand, walk, and bend for lengthy periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally to on and off post locations in support of horse shows, purchasing, or for special events.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
HIGHLY PREFERRED:
- One (1) year or more experience in instructing riding skills in English and/or Western pleasure.
