This is position located in the Contract Administration Division, Naval Sea Systems Command, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) Gulf Coast, and Pascagoula, MS.  You will provide procurement/contract administration services for life cycle and new construction.

Duties

As a Contract Specialist for the Contract Department, your duties will include:

·        Keeping the contracting officer and senior management apprised of issues that may result in potential claims, or

        request for equitable adjustments and of general trends in cost and schedule performance.

·        Identifying potential funding and production problems and initiating remedial or corrective actions.

·        Working with project manager representatives, engineers and others in developing acquisition strategies.

·        Negotiating proposals and executing modifications.

·        Coordinating resolving contract issues with the Procuring Contracting Officer, Defense Contracting Audit

        agency, finance, the program office, the contractor and other stake holders.

·        Supporting changes and requests for changes under New Construction.
