Summary
You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC in the CRANE MAINTENANCE DIVISION OF THE LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Current permanent employees of UIC 39040 and DoD Tenant Activities within the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
Duties
- You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, test and install industrial electronic controlled equipment.
- You will work on microprocessors, computers and associated peripheral equipment such as keyboards, as well as any other industrial transportation equipment with electronic controls or devices.
- You will perform diagnostic troubleshooting techniques to isolate faults using a wide variety of sophisticated test equipment such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers and line monitors.
- You will align and calibrate equipment using calibration standards and alignment procedures when available and occasionally aligns by using schematics and available technical data.

- This position may require exposure to high noise levels.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
