Duties
- You will serve as a delicatessen/bakery assistant.
- Help in the preparation, presentation and serving of specialty meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads, breads and sweets to patrons.
- Answer customer questions about specialty foods.
- Using prepared ingredients, you will make hot and/or cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, salads and rotisserie chicken.
- Responsible for cleaning counters and trays, washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in preparation, work and display areas.
- Inspect and clean equipment as required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common Food Service Worker tasks including taking customer food orders; dependable with speed and quality of work; have a satisfactory safety record; keep things neat, clean and in order. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. - Working Conditions: The work is normally performed in deli or bakery area where some temperatures may be uncomfortable. Areas are well lighted, but there may be dangers of slipping on floors, exposure to hot surfaces and liquids, sharp cutting utensils, and extreme temperatures when entering walk-in refrigerators or frozen food units.
