This position is located at the Misawa Club Complex, Bldg. #485/486 with the 35th Force Support Squadron.
This is a flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week, but may work up to 40 hours a week (depending on the needs of the facility).
The purpose of this position is to mix and serve lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, Americanos, and assorted other beverages the general public may order off the menu.
1. Operates full service Espresso Bar. Prepares a wide range of drinks including but not limited to lattes, espressos, Americanos, and cappuccinos by selecting the proper grind of the coffee shot and following set recipes for each individual variation of drink.
2. Must be able to follow basic cappuccino requirement of each type drink but not limited to preheating the portafilter, knowing the difference in grinds of coffee, knowing how long should a shot take to brew into cup, preheating the cup, how to "pull" and "tamp" into the portafilter, difference in frothing and steaming milk, and able to know difference and relay information to customers on the differences in drink choices.
3. Sets up Cappuccino corner for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains neat and clean work area. Washes cappuccino bar equipment and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists supervisor on duty as necessary.
4. Operates a cash register, rings-up sales, accepts payment, and processes change. Will be required to prepare documentation for cash funds availability.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Must have cash handling experience. Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
