Duties
- Serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation, presentation and the serving or delivery of light food items offered for sale to patrons. Greets customers as they arrive at the service counter and takes orders.
- Works behind the counter and sets up and replenishes food; hot/cold drink and specialty items, and the condiments, for a food service/snack bar operation. Prepares food displays. Weighs, or apportions the selected foods on plates, trays and/or bags.
- Advises guest when order is ready and delivers the order. Assist guests through the service line. Secures funds, equipment, and food and beverage inventories as required. Performs duties by delivering food to customers and to a service buffet area.
- Serves light food items requiring little or no preparation time to patrons from a service cart. Replenishes cart as needed with supplies. Orders/ aids in loading/unloading, stocking, transporting items/ supplies as necessary.
- Performs maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the area. Inspects, cleans counters, trays, tables, washes utensils. Sends/receives pans and utensils to/from the kitchen for the required cleaning and sanitation.
- Receives guest orders, answers customer questions about offered food and drink items, records sales, receives cash/credit payment, and provides the correct change. Collects service trays after meals. Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment

- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
- May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends.
- Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 30 pounds with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices.
- Must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts, bruises, and slipping on wet floors.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements are:
Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to:
- Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
- Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
- Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
- Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order to takes orders and provide change; and determine the number of portions required.
Highly Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Posses at least 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Posses a Servsafe Certification.
