Summary
These positions are for a new daily breakfast and lunch operation on the Arsenal. It will be open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch service(s). In addition, these positions may be resourced to support the MWR catering operations for installation events and private gatherings.

Duties
- Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
- Sets up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages; replenishes as necessary.
- Break down and cleans tables and area when meal is finished and returns dishes and food to the kitchen area.
- Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
Conditions of Employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of4 hours refresher training annually.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
- An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Must be willing to accept intermittent employment.
- Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull items up to 40lbs.
- Must be physically able to stand and walk on a continuous basis.
- Must be physically able to stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend.
- Must be physically able to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
- Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
- Work schedule may be irregular. The incumbent may be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- ability to understand and follow simple instructions, AND
- ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines, AND
- ability to perform tasks involving several procedures and concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions, AND
- knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures, AND
- knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, such as counting the number of tables in order to determine the number of portions or meals required, or, how many servings a particular container will yield.
