Responsibilities
The U.S. Secret Service is seeking retired (CSRS/FERS) individuals to support our integrated mission and immediately impart their knowledge and experience to the current workforce. If re-employed under a Dual Compensation Hiring Authority with an OPM approved salary off-set waiver granted to the Secret Service, annuitants are able to earn their full salary and their full annuity without penalty.

The selectee will serve as a General Supply Specialist in the Office of Enterprise Readiness, Administrative Operations Division. Typical work assignments include:
- Performing and overseeing the receipt, storage, accountability, disposal, maintenance in storage, and shipment of a variety of equipment and property for the organization; and interpreting and adapting policy and technical directives to meet specific operating goals and implements by issuing specific instructions.
- Coordinating activities to effect the maximum utilization of space, manpower, vehicular and mechanical materiel handling equipment and facilities; making frequent inspections of the operation and reviews and analyzes activity to evaluate efficiency and progress; to assure schedules are being met and that established policies, special directives and other regulatory guides are being adhered to; authorizing necessary deviations to provide adequate operations; planning revisions of procedures and changes within the organization to efficiently increase performance levels; and exercising management control over subordinate workers in such areas as receipt, storage, shipment and disposal of the equipment.
- Studying, analyzing and evaluating the allocation and usage of storage space in the operation which involves long term in storage maintenance, repacking from commercial packing to long term storage preservation, logistics of storage location for rapid access for shipment and control of equipment availability; preparing recommendations to the distribution and storage operation and recommending changes to the supervisor; developing criteria, priority and evaluation techniques to determine current and future requirements; justifying proposals by use of flow-process charts, operation charts, layouts and specifications; developing cost and economic analysis; and preparing justification to higher levels to support recommended projects and to receive approval and funds to purchase equipment and material needed to accomplish changes.
- Referring employee problems arising pertaining to such matters as assignment, working conditions, classification and performance appraisals to the supervisor; and promoting and administering management programs such as safety, cost reduction, incentive awards, and quality assurance within policies and procedures established by higher authority.

Qualifications
Basic Qualification:
You must demonstrate at least one (1) year of the defined Specialized Experience and meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR).
Specialized Experience
You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary 72,030) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level performing duties such as: inventory management; processing purchase invoices; ordering supplies; analytical work in distribution facilities; storage management; packaging; and utilizing Sunflowers asset management system (SAMS).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
A combination of specialized experience, as described above, and related graduate level education, beyond the first year of graduate level study. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.

If one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level cannot be identified in your resume, you will be considered not qualified.
