    • Provides complex IT support services in five specialty areas including customer support, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) manager, systems administration, network services, and Policy/Planning.
    • Provides onsite customer support services for Division/District IT equipment, software, systems, interfaces and networks.
    • Analyzes and diagnoses difficult and complex problems reported by IT users in District organizations pertinent to a wide variety of Division/District software applications, operating systems and IT equipment.
    • Serves as a District IT Specialist and CADD Manager responsible for System Administration planning, coordination, modification, implementation, and troubleshooting.
    • Provides demonstrations of the capabilities of the CADD system.
    • Coordinates and reviews the testing of vendor-provided software.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • In accordance with DoD 8570.01-M dated 19 Dec 05, C3.2.4.1.1.2. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technical appropriate to the grade level you are recruited for.
    • Successful completion of a pre-placement physical examination is required.
    • This position may require scheduled work hours that include evenings, weekends, holidays and being on call.
    • Position is designated as Emergency Essential. The person selected for this position must sign a statement of understanding.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis.
    • Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. as a part of your daily routine will be required.
    Qualifications
    This position is being filled at the GS-09 grade, with the target grade of GS-12. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-12 level. Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision.

    Management may select at any of the grade levels announced. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

    Education - GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

    Specialized Experience - GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the management of Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems and providing on-site helpdesk customer support for CADD related items; suggest ideal time frames for the installation of new software for a Headquarters level organization; monitor network hardware, software, and communication links for the organization and provide input on the maintenance of these components; and ensure the appropriate use of LAN/WAS utilization by end users by monitoring an application database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
    OR
    Education - GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

    Specialized Experience - GS-12: Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems and providing on-site helpdesk customer support for CADD related items; coordinate and plan the installation of new software for an Headquarters level organization; assess network hardware, software, and communication links for the organization and provide input on the maintenance of these components; and ensure the appropriate use of LAN/WAS utilization by end users by monitoring an application database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    All of the specialized experience for each of the grade levels must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

    (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
