Duties
- Opens and unpacks cartons of materials. Moves or uses hand truck to move various items requiring delivery or storage. Sets up and breaks down multi-functional areas. Arranges mobile furniture, movable walls, light equipment, etc.
- Polices assigned areas, collects and disposes of trash and debris, cuts grass, pulls weeds, waters grass and flower beds, spreads mulch, rakes leaves, shovels snow and puts down salt. Washes and waxes vehicles.
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs and waxes floors. Uses industrial household cleaners to clean, disinfect and deodorize windows, mirrors, fixtures, and facilities. Reports facility condition to supervisor including need for repairs.
- Routine work assignments are completed with little supervision. Responsible to identify and report obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and any other situations that may impact work operations.
- Performs all duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment

- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate objects up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors.
- Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
- Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
- Able and willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Skill and knowledge to safely operate and perform routine maintenance on hand tools and equipment (rake, pitch folk, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower, hammer, screwdriver, wrench, pliers).
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) months of laboring experience required.
- Must have the ability to use, control and clean tools and power equipment used.
- Must have the ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.
