This position is located in the Procurement and Support Services Division.
The Procurement and Support Services Division (PSSD) directs all Headquarters procurement operations, travel and purchase card programs, and facility management. PSSD oversees and provides technical supervision of field and Departmental procurement activities; interfaces with the Department of the Treasury on procurement matters; performs staff procurement functions; and, develops and implements policies and procedures. PSSD provides procurement, travel, and purchase card oversight and quality control of Head-quarters, Departments, and field office programs including advice, assistance, and inspections. PSSD performs cost and price analyses; manages office administration functions including staffing, personnel, budget, and reporting; oversees operation and improvement of automated systems; develops annual and long-range acquisition plans and forecasts; and operates special programs, e.g., Small Business, competition, AbilityOne, Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) certification, Procurement Official certification, and career programs.
As a Lead Contract Specialist, you will:
-Perform staff procurement functions. Hold and exercise an unlimited warrant (FAC-C Level III certification). Perform cost and price analyses.
-Develop and execute acquisition strategies.
-Monitor and analyze the current status of relevant markets, including Information Technology, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Protection, Commodities, etc.
-Serve as the technical expert and principal contract advisor with full technical and administrative authority and responsibility to develop, implement, manage and monitor programs to meet short and long term United States Mint-wide goals.
