This position is located with the FMWR Library on Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Duties
- Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public.
- Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials.
- Prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials; and/or provides technical services support in a variety of functions.
- Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
Conditions of Employment

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
- Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade.
Or
Two years of education above high school.
Or
A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
