    Summary

    This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-Time appointment.

    Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

    Responsibilities

    Serve as a foreman for the maintenance operations, working under the general supervision of the Facility Manager who makes project assignments, provides general and technical assistance and checks for overall compliance, completeness, acceptability. costs, deadlines, and other requirements. Skills and knowledge require knowledge of journeyman level work practices in such areas as heavy equipment operation, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical repair,and general knowledge of work practices in painting, masonry, appliance repair and other maintenance trades. Must be able to deal tactfully with contractors, visitors, concessionaires, federal and state officials, park residents and suppliers. Supervisory duties involve:

    Planning - Plan and schedule work assignments on a day-to-day, week-to-week, and project-to-project basis discussing changes in procedures and sequence of work operations with Facility Manager to obtain approval.

    Work Direction - Through written job requests, job standards and day-to-day contact, responsible for explaining job requirements, deadlines, quality of work desired, methods and procedures to be used in accomplishing the work of each employee under his/her supervision, inspecting daily for completeness and acceptability of work. Assures work assignments provide necessary instructions; demonstrate proper work methods; obtain needed plans, blueprints, materials, equipment and tools.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel overnight up to 1 week per year for training purposes.
