Duties
This Joint Duty Program opportunity is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS), External Affairs Directorate (EXA), Office of Citizenship, Partnership, and
Engagement (OCPE), Liaison Coordination Division (LCD). The mission of OCPE is to remove barriers to naturalization, promote immigrant inclusion, and to provide meaningful engagement with our stakeholders and partners. The Liaison and Coordination Division (LCD) serves as the official liaison between USCIS and our partners at DHS, the CIS Ombudsman (CISOMB) and the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL).
Description of Position Responsibilities:
- Uses expert qualitative and quantitative analysis when reviewing documents such as agency responses to congressional reports.
- Employs organizational skills, and abilities when coordinating local and national engagements on diverse immigration topics.
- Collaborates with stakeholders weekly, monthly, and bi-annually to establish goals for LCD and assists in accomplishing the Agency's mission.
- Advises USCIS leadership and partner agencies on the most current laws, regulations, and policy memorandum on immigration matters.
- Exercises knowledge of analytical skills and organizational data involving quantitative and qualitative techniques when conducting routine reviews and when drafting major projects, such as agency responses to congressional reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and memorandums of understanding (MOU).
- The incumbent reviews responses prior to distributing to the CIS Ombudsman (CISOMB) and the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) and detects any errors or oversights when stating USCIS law, processes, and procedures.
-The incumbent will provide expert advice to USCIS leadership and partner agencies on the most current laws, regulations, and policy memoranda on issues of public interest.

- Experience facilitating webinars or briefings with stakeholders, partners, or leadership is preferred.
