    Summary

    The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) in Little Rock, AR seeks an experienced Staff Urologist to join an expanding clinical practice. The CAVHS provides Urology cutting-edge procedural, surgical, and robot technology care to Veterans ranging from common outpatient procedures and complex surgeries. We have a close affiliation with UAMS and participate in their residency teaching program.

    Responsibilities

    This is an open continuous announcement and will be closed once a qualified applicant has been selected. Applications will be submitted for review as they are received.

    Incumbent duties will include diagnosing, treating and managing patients with urological diseases per standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques in the outpatient setting.

    The candidate will establish professional working relationships with other clinical service providers within the center and outlying Community Base Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS), providing telephone and e-consultations, consultations as needed and screening consults that are received for appropriateness prior to scheduling.

    He/she will report to the Section Chief, Urology Service or his designee. Specialists and other physicians are available for consultation.

    The candidate shall be expected to cooperate with and participate in medical duties or functions related to quality of care, peer review, improvement and with other performance improvement activities at the direction of the Section Chief, Surgery Service Chief, and the Chief of Staff.
    The candidate is expected to perform urology-related direct patient care in all functional areas of the OR, ICU, ward, and clinic settings as needed, to include on-call coverage. Provides critical care related direct care as a part of a multidisciplinary critical care team.
    The incumbent may also be involved in program planning, objectives, policies, and standards essential to delivery of quality Urological care.

    Responsible for providing appropriate education for the patient and/or family members
    regarding the patient's illness and management.


    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; work schedules may vary depending on the needs of the service.
