  • Duties



    Position functions in an emergency room where you will be expected to provide coverage to treat, release, admit or transfer patients with acute medical, psychiatric or surgical needs, primarily during the regular hours and off-tours hours, including nights, weekends, and evening coverage. Additional responsibilities include providing care on the inpatient medical unit and ICU. Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Family Practice is preferred.

    Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm or 8:00 pm to 8:00 am on weekend/holidays. Some weekday shift of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (ER physicians are scheduled for approximately 80-hours of work during each two-week period)

    Functional Statement Title: Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care Scope of Practice

    Education and length of practice will be considered by a Compensation Panel in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).

    This announcement will fill two (2) positions in Topeka, KS and one (1) position in Leavenworth, KS.

    Routine procedures: intubation, vascular access (Arterial line/Central line), LP, thoracentesis/paracentesis, chest tube, and splints.ACLS/BLS and out of OR airway certification preferred.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be expected between the Leavenworth and Topeka campuses for this position.
