    About the position:
    This position will be assigned to the Farish Recreation Area in TELLER County.

    Responsibilities

    Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. Provides general information to patrons concerning hours of operations, facilities available, etc. Takes reservations by telephone, putting the reservation information into a computer, and receiving credit card payments. Insures that the camp area is kept clean on a daily basis. Insures that the campground is properly maintained to include minor maintenance, on a daily basis. Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; takes reservations and payment and arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants. As required, sells retail items for resale at the site. Loads, unloads, moves and stacks material such as heavy boxes and bulky items by hand or dollies; operates hand tools and simple power equipment such as lawn movers, handsaws, and hatchets. Performs a variety of tasks such as moving, arranging, collecting and cleaning equipment and materials. May be required to drive a government vehicle. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

    Qualifying Experience:

    Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Experience in general clerical work of any kind that demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of this position. Ability to safeguard and handle cash. Skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical is required. Subject to an uncommon tour of duty. A valid driver's license is required. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Must provide a copy of driving record. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
