Duties
- Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
- Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
- Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies.
- Assists in maintaining pool, and in keeping the area clean and free from any hazards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
- Requires a Hepatitis B Vaccination within 24-hour period in the case of exposure to infectious disease.
- Must have good/corrective vision.
- Must wear protective equipment and follow environmental safeguards.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
- Work hours may include weekends, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
- Lifeguards must comply with age 15 years old restrictions of the DOL Child Labors Law (Jan 17, 2006).
- Must have a current health assessment which documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army Policy.
- Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para. 2, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications
Possesses and maintains OR in the process of obtaining the following certifications:
- Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e., Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS)
- American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional"
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED)
- First Aid
NOTE TO APPLICANTS: You are in the process of obtaining a certification if you plan on registering for or are already registered for the above-named certification courses. Must obtain certification prior to start of pool season on 19 MAY 2023. Cost of certification may be reimbursed by the organization.
