Duties
- Required to perform Lifeguard duties, responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons using the swimming pool.
- Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Ensures that safety rules are followed.
- Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc.
- Assists in maintaining pool and area clean and free from any hazards and provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.

Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- SCHEDULE: Availability to work irregular hours to include weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Physical Requirement: Able to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Work experience related to the duties described above that included customer service, operation and maintenance of sports facilities and fitness equipment.
2. Possess the following certificates:
a. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
b. First Aid Certification (Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)
c. American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification
