Clarification from the agency
U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties
- Manages all swimming lessons and instructs and develops swim program.
- Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students.
- Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
Conditions of Employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of all required background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13. i. is required to include a health screening.
- In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
- Be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
Work experience related to the duties described above and possession (or in the process of obtaining) of the following certificates:
- Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- First Aid Certification (Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)
