The Informatics Registered Nurse is responsible for providing clinical expertise and leadership for the implementation and integration of nursing science, computer science and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in nursing practice. The Informatics Nurse facilitates the integration of data, information and knowledge to support providers and other disciplines in providing patient care in all roles and settings.

Nursing Informatics (NI) is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, information science and clinical practice. The Informatics Nurse demonstrates sound knowledge of informatics processes, clinical documentation requirements, current standards of care, and compliance guidelines, possesses the ability to interact with a wide variety of employees including: Utilization management nurses, Medical/Surgical attending providers, nursing teams, social workers, and transfer coordinators.
The Informatics RN I Level 3 is proficient at accomplishing program goals and objectives. The Informatics Nurse adheres to the requirement of the VHA Directive and is an integral component of VHA's tools for provision of care, establishing effective administrative systems, managing and delivering educational experiences, managing quality and resource utilization.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 430pm.
