    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This National Guard position is for a SPACE OPERATIONS OFFICER, Position Description Number D2210000 and is part of the FL 114th SPCS, National Guard.

    Responsibilities

    AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.

    Provide administrative oversight of all aspects of the operations and support functions for the squadron to ensure mission accomplishment. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Direct, coordinate, and oversee work through subordinate supervisors. Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters. Appraise performance of subordinate supervisors and other employees directly supervised and serve as reviewing official on evaluation of non-supervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Review developmental needs of subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees and make decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs and/or requests for unit employees. Develop and recommend program objectives and operations, allocation of resources, changes in program emphasis, and adjustments in resource utilization to correct resource deficiencies, and provides balanced program operations. Manage and provide policy and technical guidance to staff and squadron personnel who perform space operations and all supporting functions to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines involved in carrying out the DoD's mission and mandate.
