Duties

You will oversee the operations of a security department during periods when the Installation Security Officer (ISO), Deputy ISO or other leadership are either not available or not on station.
You will provide administrative and technical supervision to personnel (such as police officers, guards and other personnel) during the assigned shift.
You will direct assigned personnel, equipment, first responders, auxiliary forces, local police responders and others involved in protection of the installation.
You will liaison with other first responders and the local community to establigh, reinforce and nourish mutually supporting relationships.

Requirements Conditions of Employment

Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing others in the provision of Law Enforcement (LE), Antiterrorism (AT), and Force Protection (FP) at installations; 2) Supervising others in performing LE, AT and FP functions; 3) Using advanced or specialized techniques, equipment and training to perform advance aspects of LE, AT and PS functions; 4) Interpreting LE AT and FP guidelines, rules, regulations and legal authorities to conduct preliminary and ongoing investigations of incidents, ranging from simple rule violations to felony and capital crimes within prescribed limitations; and 5) Applying the rules of evidence, the rights of individuals, and other procedures to make apprehensions, detaining and processing suspects, and protecting crime scenes. You must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM DOD or DON mental and emotional stablility screening, physical agility test, and medical screening.

You must successfully complete a required police training academy or equivalent course (e.g. Navy Police Officer Academy, a federal or miiltary police academy, or equivalent law enforcement training). You must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Levle I Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable) and OC refresher training. (Note: Police officers assigned to perform duties as members of a Harbor Patrol Unit (HPU) must be qualificed as Second Class swimmers and/or Bow Hooks/Coxswains, as applicable).
