The primary purpose of this position is: Provides and develops, a variety of educational and recreational activity, which stimulate and sustain the social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of youth at Misawa community.
- Performs administrative functions to ensure that the program is administered, funded, and evaluated in a manner which supports parents and children.
- Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities to more than 20 staff members, which range in grade, from CC-01 to CC-05, and GS-05 positions. Participates with employees in developing performance plans, and advises employees of what is expected. Provides proper guidance and direction, feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraises performance accurately and within established Air Force guidelines and time frames.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees; the long range and day-to-day operation of an enhanced school age program, consisting of activities, such as before and after school/camp, full-day summer camp, and check in/check out programs for youths 5-12 years of age.
- Develops budget input, and assists with preparing justification, for funding of program resources, requirements, and repairs/maintenance of facilities and equipment. Ensures safety inspections of programs environment are comprehensive and adequately identify potential risk situations. Coordinates school age program food service operations and develops procedures for food preparation/service/storage following Air Force and USDA policies and instruction.
