This position is part of the TX SAO, Army Aviation Support Facility and is located in San Antonio, Texas. Its purpose is to provide services in support of inventory control, storage, and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems.

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN with the Texas Army National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Analyzes supply transactions or provides customer service for urgent critical shortage items and other items requiring special handling when established procedures are not applicable.
- Within funding limitations, determines stock replenishment levels for centrally controlled items.
- Reviews existing stock catalogs, drawings, etc., for the purpose of identifying items cataloged or otherwise recorded in the supply system.
- Manages inventory of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions Of Employment
Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Texas Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Texas Army National Guard. - All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite and temporary personnel of the Texas Army National Guard.

- This announcement is open for 1 year of until filled.
- This is an Indefinite Position which may convert to a Permanent Position at a later date without further competition.
- A Recruitment Incentive up to 20% may be offered to newly hired employees upon funds availability. The selected applicant will be required to sign a service agreement prior to entrance on duty. Current on-board Federal Technicians/Employees do not qualify for the Recruitment Incentives.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within 1 year of appointment.
- This is a Bargaining Unit position.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Veteran's Preference does not apply to this position.
Compatible Military Assignment (per UMR): Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the MOS to apply or be considered; however, applicant must be Duty MOS assigned to a compatible position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations upon selection.

To qualify at the GS-06 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting 9 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
