Clarification from the agency
U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties
- Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders.
- This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than those involved in positions in restaurant, cafe or bar operations.
- Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages.
Conditions of Employment

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Stands, walks, and stoops and stretches, usually for long period of time, handling food and beverage trays and good containers, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds.
- Applicant must be physically able to stand, stoop, bend, walk and do moderate lifting for long periods of time. Must be able to hear
the conversational voice.
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and split-shifts.
- Work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation. May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements:
1. Must meet the state/local age requirement for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
2. No prior training or work experience required.
3. Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions.
