JOB TITLE: Commercial Sponsorship Specialist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the manager for the MCCS Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising Program, responsible for planning, developing, organizing, budgeting, administering, and evaluating all sponsorship and advertising activities. Leads the sponsorship/sales team and oversees the full lifecycle of sponsorship acquisition, contract development, activation, and reporting.
Develops and solicits corporate partnerships in both U.S. and Japan markets to build a diversified sponsorship and advertising portfolio. Conducts market research, identifies new business opportunities, and develops proposals tailored to MCCS programs, events, and media platforms. Negotiates terms to maximize value and ensure agreements comply with DoD, USMC, legal, and procurement requirements.
Initiates, routes, and tracks sponsorship and advertising agreements through required review channels, including Legal, Finance, and Command. Maintains accurate documentation and ensures all agreements are properly recorded in MCCS sponsorship management systems. Holds designated signature authority for commercial sponsorship agreements within approved thresholds.
Oversees activation and fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables across print, digital, online, social media, out of home media, and event environments. Coordinates with Marketing, operational divisions, and program managers to ensure timely execution of all contracted obligations. Ensures post event and post campaign evaluations are completed, including analytics, ROI reporting, and after action documentation.
Provides leadership, supervision, and training for the commercial sponsorship team. Assigns work, establishes priorities, evaluates performance, and provides coaching and development. Ensures staff understand MCCS policies, sponsorship compliance requirements, and customer service standards.
Manages sponsorship revenue tracking, financial reconciliation, and reporting. Coordinates with Finance to ensure accurate processing of payments, audit ready documentation, and adherence to accounting procedures.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy, professionalism, and responsiveness. Communicates positively, resolves issues promptly, and escalates concerns appropriately. Adheres to safety regulations and standards and promptly reports hazards, injuries, or property damage. Supports EEO principles and maintains a workplace free from harassment.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
¿ Five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial sponsorship, advertising sales, business development, or related fields, demonstrating the ability to manage a sponsorship program and lead a team.
¿ Demonstrated ability to research, network, and cultivate business relationships with U.S. and host nation companies.
¿ Strong negotiation, communication, contract administration, and project management skills.
¿ Ability to interpret and apply DoD and USMC policies related to sponsorship, advertising, and commercial agreements.
¿ Experience coordinating across marketing divisions and operational departments.
¿ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is a white collar position where occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
a. Demonstrated detailed experience resulting in successful sponsorship, promotion or advertising sales management for commercial media, special events, and military morale, welfare and recreation programs.
b. Experience with government contracting regulations to include familiarity with the legal aspects of contract development management.
c. Demonstrated project management skills incorporating the ability to make sound recommendations according to budget and programming needs while independently managing and planning for personnel with a variety of skills and the supervision of multiple, complex projects.
d. Extensive experience with print, digital, online and out-of-home media.
e. Working knowledge of principles of demographics, market planning, and accounting budget procedures.
f. Extensive familiarity with host nation business practices to include local business contacts.
g. Knowledgeable of and familiarity with the MCCS mission, programs and services as well as the U.S. military culture and market.
h. Ability to expand stateside advertising and sponsorship sales.
i. A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator¿s permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire.
j. Japanese language skills both verbal and written desired.
