This National Guard position is for an AIR CARGO SPECIALIST, Position Description Number PDD1965000and is part of the WY 153rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard.
This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

Duties
This position is located in the Air Terminal Function Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron, 153d Air Base Group, in the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153d Airlift Wing. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of Air Transportation functions necessary to manage the day-to-day operations including but not limited to, airdrop and airdrop inspections, rigging responsibilities, wing deployment training, passenger and cargo manifesting, Joint Inspection, load planning, determining cargo/passenger eligibility, establishing and maintaining air terminal security, directly responsible for safe and efficient loading/offloading of all DOD-owned and controlled aircraft and ensuring In-transit Visibility. Selectee would be required to attend formal schools, if they do not have the required certifications.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Air Cargo Specialist Supervisor. Assignments are received in the form of work orders, inspection reports, or verbal instructions. Independently performs assignments after priorities and pertinent policy matters have been given. Plans inspection/other work sequences, selects tools and repair parts, and independently carries assignments through to completion referring only unusual and most difficult problems to supervisor. Work is subject to spot check upon completion for acceptability and adherence to instructions and established standards. Guidelines available for reference include technical orders and manuals, manufacturer specifications, factory engineering bulletins, and standard operating procedures.

Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members.
Must submit vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with resume
Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
Must submit vMPF Rip/Data Verification Rip with application.
Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation.
An indefinite position may be converted to Perm if funding/position is available.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.

Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician.
Recruitment/Relocation Incentives ARE NOT authorized.
PCS costs are not authorized. Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.
Qualifications
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
The consideration of qualified eligible candidates will be as follows:
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (NG) Title 5 and T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Title 5 employees must be eligible to convert to T32 Dual Status.
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of equipment and practices associated with the type of work to be done.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess experience or training performing a full variety of Air Transportation functions necessary to manage the day-to-day Air Transportation and small air terminal operations including but not limited to, airdrop and airdrop inspections, rigging responsibilities, wing deployment training, passenger and cargo manifesting, Joint Inspection, load planning, determining cargo/passenger eligibility, establishing and maintaining air terminal security, directly responsible for safe and efficient loading/offloading of all DOD-owned and controlled aircraft and ensuring In-transit Visibility.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

Must possess AFSC 2T251, Air Transportation, as a minimum.

TENURE: GROUP III - INDEFINITE
Purpose: To fill a position that may last for more than 1 year where the need for an employee's services is not permanent or management expects the position to potentially become permanent (career or career-conditional) at some time in the future, but usually for a period not more than five years.
